Starting Point : Pickup from hotel in Munnar (early morning)

 

Itinerary

Pickup from Hotel

*  Early morning drive from Munnar town towards the base camp at Silent Valley.

*  En route, enjoy misty roads, tea plantations, and sunrise views.

 

Stop 1: Silent Valley Base Camp (Report & Breakfast)

*  Register at the Forest Department Eco-tourism office (mandatory).

*  Enjoy a light breakfast at the base camp.

*  Briefing by forest guides on safety, trekking rules, and the route.

 

Trek to Meesapulimala (Approx. 6–7 km one way)

*  Begin your guided trek through rolling grasslands, shola forests, and mist-filled valleys.

*  The trail is moderately challenging and filled with scenic beauty.

*  Spot rare flora, birds, and if lucky, wild animals like gaur or sambar deer.

*  The final ascent takes you to the second-highest peak in South India at 2,640 meters above sea level.

 

Stop 2: Summit of Meesapulimala

*  Witness breathtaking 360° views of the Western Ghats, misty valleys, and neighboring Tamil Nadu plains.

*  On clear days, the sight of endless mountain ranges is unforgettable.

*  Relax, click photos, and soak in the serene atmosphere. Packed Lunch at the Peak / Return Trail

*  Enjoy a simple packed Kerala-style lunch/snacks at the top (arranged through the eco- tourism center).

*  Start trekking back to Silent Valley base camp in the afternoon.

 

Stop 3: Kolukkumalai (Optional – Jeep Ride)

*  If time permits, take a jeep ride to the nearby Kolukkumalai Tea Estate, the world’s highest tea plantation.

*  Experience tea-tasting and panoramic views of the mountains.

 

Return to Hotel

*  Drive back to Munnar town through scenic plantation roads.

*  Drop at your hotel with unforgettable trekking memories.
